旭化成POM LA543---DuPont developed POM / PUR-T alloy by mechanical blending and graft copolymerization,
which not only maintains the strength and rigidity of POM, but also improves the impact resistance of POM.
The notched impact strength of POM is 17 times higher than that of pure POM, reaching 906j / m.
Bai Shibing of Sichuan University found that the impact strength of POM toughened by PUR-T / CaCO3
ultrafine composite powder with CaCO3 as core and PUR-T as shell was greatly improved.
The further study by Yu Jian et al. Showed that when the particle spacing of PUR-T coated CaCO3
particles reached the critical value TC ≤ 0.18 μ m, and the coating thickness reached the critical
value LC ≥ 0.7 μ m, the brittle ductile transition occurred in the blend POM material,
the impact strength of the material could be dozens of times higher than that of pure POM,
and the tensile strength could reach about 30MPa.
